The Sweetest Handbag Set

I spent this past Saturday we celebrated my friend Emily and her coming nuptials at her first bridal shower. It was so much fun! You may remember the post I did featuring her engagement photos. They’re getting married at the end of March in Charleston and I can’t wait! But when I was getting ready for the shower and reached for my new handbag, I realized I haven’t had a chance to share it with you on the blog. I can’t believe I’ve held back this long! I recently wore it with my pink plaid dress for an understated Valentine’s Day look and knew it was time to give you all the details.
First, let’s talk about the dress. Some say plaid is a trend for Winter, but I would argue it never goes out of style. There are so many ways to wear it! Whether you’re going for a grunge look or something more feminine, there is a plethora of interpretations. I’ve been on the hunt for pieces I can wear now and later in the Spring when I found this dress from one of my favorite contemporary brands, &OtherStories. It’s a light shade of blush, almost a nude, with a pretty ruffled hemline and wrap-style skirt. While it has a 3/4 sleeve, it’s super lightweight and unlined so the dress could easily be worn this Spring. For now I’ve paired it back to my grey suede moto jacket for a touch of edge and my wide-leg over the knee boots.

Now on to one of my favorite purchases of 2019 so far: my pink handbag set. That’s right, it’s a set! I was gearing up for Emily’s bachelorette party and decided to stop into Nordstrom to see if they had any new handbags that caught my eye. To confess, I’ve been using the same handbag for the last year and a half, so it was time for a refresh. That’s when I spotted a medium-size pink suede shoulder bag. I loved the adjustable gold chain that was could function as a crossbody or a shorter handle because versatility is always a must for me. The color was perfect and so was the size. When I picked it up, it seemed a bit heavy so I peaked inside only to discover there was a miniature version that came with it! The style is called a “mommy and me” handbag set, but honestly it’s perfect for everyone. For one price, you get two bags that are identical with the exception of size. This set is especially handy if you’re traveling because you can fit one inside the other, saving space, while making sure you have a bag for day and night. I’m shown wearing the mini size above, but you can see the full size in this picture on my Instagram feed. It’s also available in black.
