Velour is Back in Action

Well folks, I hate to break it to you, but velour is back!  The quintessential Juicy Couture tracksuit has somehow arisen from its sequin grave, riding the wave of the velvet trend to put itself back in the spotlight.  There are versions of it everywhere right now from Adidas to Topshop, Forever21 to JC Penney.  You can wear it as a full look (see Forever21 link) or you can wear them as separates.  I do love a velour jogger pant, but not sure how flattering it would be on my figure.  I’ll have to try that on for y’all!  However, I did get a chance to wear this adorable velour sweatshirt from The Pink Hanger in Charlotte, NC, and I loved the fit!  It is made by Piko.  They specialize in bamboo knit tops that typically come in the swing shape they are known for.  As a result, their tops are always comfortable and flattering. Piko took that same concept and applied it to this sweatshirt by making it a tunic length and an over-sized fit consistent with their brand.

This specific pullover is only available in-store at The Pink Hanger, but you can always give them a call and see what they have left in stock!  You can also go to HouseAcct.com and send one of their personal shoppers a message about this sweatshirt (mention it is from Pink Hanger) and I’m sure they would be happy to help you out.  I’m shown wearing a size medium.  Usually I wear a size large, but because this sweatshirt has an over-sized fit I decided to go down a size so that I could easily pair it with jeans and skirts.

To show off my curves I tucked the sweatshirt in, but you could easily wear it loose over jeans or leggings.  If you want to go really bold pair it with my favorite faux leather leggings to get a unique play on textures!  My baker boy hat is by Brixton and fits great.  For color reference it is navy blue with black accents.  I’ve had fun mixing this accessory into my looks and can’t wait to style it with dresses when the weather warms up!
