my latest shoe obsession

So I was doing some browsing on one of my favorite retail sites, Nordstrom.com, and came across these adorable cream mules with blue and white striped laces.  It was love at first site.  I knew I had to have them!

They are a little more than I usually spend on shoes, so I had to figure out what I would wear with them before I bought them.  There have been many instances in my life where a shoe has dictated an entire outfit.  This was another one of those moments.  So in an effort to validate the splurge, I came up with 3 outfit ideas to show how I could style the ‘Amber’ lace-up sandals by Dolce Vita.

This is the perfect outfit for date night or shopping with friends.  It’s feminine, yet playful with the chunky chain necklace and the light pink.  These shorts are a great deal, too!  I’m sure they’ll be a go-to item this Spring and Summer.

This look is filled with essential items: basic chambray shirt, updated white jeans you’ll wear all season, a beautiful leather carry-all, and stack-able rose gold bangles. I love these earrings from Kendra Scott because they’re so glamorous and surprisingly versatile!

I picture this look walking down a colorful street in Charleston or a market in the Caribbean. The lace-up denim dress is a fresh look that pays homage to the 1960s and coveralls. I’ve paired it with a bright printed clutch to add a fun pop of color while keeping the other accessories more neutral.

I’m so excited to start wearing spring colors and brighten up my blog!  While I obviously enjoy wearing neutrals (as in lots of black) I think there is so much fun to be had when it comes to warm weather clothing and accessories.  Bring on the sandals, the short boho dresses, and tropical-inspired outfits!  The only problem is I don’t have a fun vacation destination to wear all of these things…hopefully in the next couple months that will change.
