Embroidered Denim Done Right

Embroidered denim as a trend has been around for a while now.  It started well over a year ago, but I hesitated to commit!  I know, me of all people, hesitating to embrace a trend?  I have loved this trend from the beginning, don’t get me wrong, but I just couldn’t seem to pull trigger and buy something for myself.  Meanwhile, I was buying it for women shopping at a major retailer.  But, I digress…

Read on for more information on why these embroidered jeans are “done right” for the curvy figure.

When it comes to embroidery on a curvy frame, placement is everything!  It can make a huge difference in whether or not a pair of jeans flatters someone’s figure.  What I loved about this pair from Express is that the embroidery was kept to the outside seams, organically trailing off just a touch so you can see it from the front and back.  It’s subtle, follows the curvature of my hips and calves, and enhances my shape in the best ways!

It should come as no surprise that these embroidered jeans are from Express.  I’ve shared pretty regularly how much I love their denim pieces because they fit a curvy frame so well.  Now they officially offer extended sizes online and in store!  I’m so happy they’re modernizing their product offering.  I can share my addiction to Express jeans with even more of you!  The best part is they’re having a Summer Sale and these jeans, along with many other cute styles, are Buy One, Get One $29.90.  Plus, Women’s tees, tanks and shorts are $14.90 and up.

I’m pictured wearing size 14 Short.  To be honest, I’ve put on a little extra weight recently so my sizing is a little bit different than usual (use to be a 12), but I would still say they run true to size because they have a little bit of room.  I’m usually in between a size 12 and a 14, anyway.  You may also think it’s odd that I’m wearing a “short” length because I haven’t mentioned it before.  I found myself having to hem the regular length or chop them off myself, so instead I decided to try the “short” length offering to see how it worked.  I think it maybe was shorter than expected haha but I made it work!

My outfit is comprised of a mix of brands, but I was most excited about my new top on sale at Madewell for $29.99.  I’m wearing size XL, but in hindsight I wish I had gone with the L.  Just keep in mind when ordering that it has an over-sized fit.  The bell sleeves are so cute and it’s made from a very comfortable textured knit.  This top is definitely a great fashion basic that I’ll be wearing all season!

Hope you all are having a great week so far.  Make sure to check out the Summer Sale at Express and some of the amazing finds on sale at Madewell!
