Blue+White Striped Flutter Top

I know a lot of people say “I need all the coffee today” and it’s like “yeah, yeah whatever #basic.”  But really, and I mean really really, I need all the coffee I can get today.  Lately I cannot seem to get enough sleep!  For instance, last night: I went to bed at 10:30pm, probably fell asleep around 11:30pm, then woke up at 7:30am.  That’s a solid 8 hours!  I’m so used to running on an average of 5-6 hours of sleep that this is a lot for me!  It’s almost shocking.  So when I still feel like I’ve been hit by a train after a solid 8 hours of sleep it is incredibly frustrating.  Just wake up already!

I’m pictured wearing size L and tucked it into my high-waisted jeans so I could accentuate my waistline.  What you can’t see in this picture is that underneath the flutter layer the top is smocked.  The smocking makes it A) stretchy B) hug to your bust area (so it doesn’t slip) and C) smooth out any imperfections caused by pesky strapless bras.  In fact, it also D) allows you to wear this top without a bra!  I wore it around the house without one and you couldn’t tell.  Plus, the straps act as an extra safety measure to make sure it stays up.  I’ve never been so comfortable in an off the shoulder top in my life haha!  Brilliant design choice!

Other than being a key functional part of the design, the flutter later is romantic and flattering. I love the drama it adds!  I’d pair this top with white jeans, shorts and even tuck it into a denim skirt.  So many outfit options with this one!  Plus, it’s blue and white striped.  Everyone needs a good blue and white striped piece in their wardrobe this Spring/Summer and I highly recommend this one!

The espadrilles I’m wearing are a new pair from Sole Society that I absolutely love!  I’m wearing the color “Taupe.”  They’re lightweight, have soft leather straps, and they’re the perfect amount of height.  I wore these shoes to an outdoor engagement party this past weekend and my feet never got sore.  We were there from 4-11pm, most of the time on our feet, so that’s quite an accomplishment.  Usually at that point even a flat pair of sandals would make my dogs bark, but not these espadrilles!  Kudos to Sole Society for a great essential shoe that’s both stylish and practical!  Now I just need all the other colors to magically appear in my closet…
