Stitch Fix Plus Review

I’ve been wanting to freshen up my athleisure wardrobe with fun pieces I can wear to the gym or around town, but have struggled to find pieces that fit my figure and my budget.  I love shopping, but these days I rarely have the time to actually go to the store and take the time to dig through everything to find what I’m looking for.  Even online shopping has become a hassle!  I feel like I can surf the internet for hours and come up empty handed.  That’s why I was so excited to have the opportunity to try Stitch Fix, an online personal styling experience that’s catered to you and your budget.   Needless to say, my stylist nailed it!  Read on for more information about how Stitch Fix works and my personal testimony.

How It Works

To get started with Stitch Fix, you’ll head to www.stitchfix.com and fill out their online Style Profile that helps your personal stylist learn more about your body shape, fit, and personal preferences.  Then you’ll select the dates that you want to receive your box of goodies.  This is ensures you’ll be home and have plenty of time to try on your items.  Then your stylist will go through and select items specifically for you!   Worried they won’t have your size?  Stitch Fix carries a wide range of women’s apparel in sizes 0-24W and XS-3X, Maternity and Petite.  That’s pretty incredible!

Once you receive your box, you have three days to try on everything in the comfort of your own home.  Then it’s as easy as keep what you want, return what you don’t!  Just check out online through your Stitch Fix account, select the items your keeping, exchanging or returning.  You’ll only be charged for what you keep!  If you decide to keep all of the items in your box you get a 25% discount!

How Much Does It Cost

When you complete your Style Profile and your stylist goes to select the items for your box, you’ll be charged a $20 styling fee.  This fee goes toward any purchase you make from your box!  So think of it kind of like a down-payment and a “thank you” to your stylist for taking the time to personalize each shipment.

In terms of product price point, Stitch Fix offers a wide range and allows you to specify your budget for items during your Style Profile quiz.  To give you an idea, the average price point of women’s items is $55.

Remember: if you purchase everything in your Stitch Fix box, you get a 25% discount!  There are definitely opportunities for savings and when you think about all the time (and gas!) you save by avoiding having to shop in-store, there are some serious perks for your wallet.

My Stitch Fix Experience

As a curvy woman, shopping has always been a challenge.  I used to spend hours digging through things at department stores or making my way through boutiques only to come up empty-handed.  I love that the only finger I had to lift in the Stitch Fix process was taking a quick Style Profile quiz.  From there, I just sat back and waiting for my box of goodies to arrive.

When I say goodies, I mean goodies!  It was truly like opening a gift on Christmas morning.  I actually squealed out of excitement when I opened my box!  Each item was wrapped in tissue or encased in a dust bag to make sure you felt the personal touch behind their service.  The packaging really made me feel special!  Plus, they include guides to show you how to style each item in your box that can help you see how to mix them in with pieces already in your wardrobe.

Not only did the stylist nail my personal style, but they were able to fulfill my needs with amazing brands!  Which, as you may know, can be a challenge for someone who is an “in-betweenie” who sometimes falls within the plus size range.  As a size 12/14, I need options that can be sized down or up depending on fit or can be selected by someone who know a brand’s fit like the back of their hand.  Stitch Fix carries Plus sizes in over 150 brands (you read that right!) including Nike, Beyond Yoga, City Chic, Liverpool, Madewell, Daniel Rainn, Vince Camuto and more.  There are so many incredible options!  I love that they were able to provide me with high quality athleisure pieces in my sizes and each one fit perfectly.

From a personal style standpoint, as I mentioned before, my stylist absolutely nailed it.  The athleisure pieces were all right up my alley and I had even considered buying the Steve Madden sneakers they included in my box for months.  They literally read my mind!  I’m so glad they sent them because I love them even more in person than I did online and I receive so many complements on them.  My bomber jacket and leggings are also two of my new favorite athleisure staple items.  I don’t know what I did without them before!  The jacket goes great with my new Beyond Yoga leggings, but can easily pair back to jeans and casual dresses.  Meanwhile, the leggings are ridiculously soft.  Now that I’ve tried Beyond Yoga, thanks to Stitch Fix, I understand the obsession!

The Stitch Fix personal styling service truly blew me away.  I would absolutely recommend them to all of you, especially those who struggle to find items that fit both their personal style and their size.
